The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) is looking for a Testing Standards Officer Pilot to join our team in Midrand.
This is a permanent position for a skilled individual who will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of safety and competence within the aviation industry.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Testing Standards Officer Pilot, you’ll be on the front lines of aviation oversight. Your responsibilities will include:
- Oversight and Approval: You’ll be responsible for the approval and oversight of Aviation Training Organizations (ATOs), Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTDs), and all aircrew licenses.
- Standards and Regulations: You will develop, implement, and maintain Civil Aviation Regulations (CARs) and Technical Standards (CATS) in compliance with international standards.
- Audits and Inspections: You will conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance, investigate non-compliances, and recommend remedial or enforcement measures.
- Technical Support: You’ll be the go-to expert, providing crucial technical assistance to other states, industry partners, and various departments within the SACAA.
- Training and Development: You will design and develop testing standards and examination items for flight crew training, and participate in industry workshops and conferences to improve standards.
Do You Have What It Takes?
To be considered for this critical role, you should have:
- Qualifications: A Grade 12 education and a Commercial Pilot License with a Grade II Instructor Rating (or an equivalent SA Air Force Flight Instructor Rating). An Airline Transport Pilot Licence with a Grade I Instructor Rating would be a significant advantage.
- Experience: A minimum of 300 hours of flight experience.
