Stock Controller (Operations)

Race Coast KZN is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Stock Controller (Operations) to join the Event Operations Department within the Hospitality & Events Division. Reporting to the Events Operations Manager, this role ensures that all operational inventory—equipment, décor, linen, furniture, and supplies—is properly managed, maintained, and event ready.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and control all operational inventory, ensuring accurate records, maintenance, and readiness for events.
  • Conduct regular stock takes and reconcile variances with Finance and Operations.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and accurate records using Excel and inventory management systems.
  • Label, catalogue, and track movement of items to prevent loss or damage.
  • Coordinate requisitions for operational supplies with the Events Operations Manager and Procurement Department.
  • Verify deliveries for quality and quantity, resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Monitor asset condition, arrange repairs or replacements, and ensure all items are event ready.
  • Support event logistics for multiple concurrent functions.
  • Ensure compliance with OHS, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Prepare monthly inventory and variance reports with insights for Finance and Operations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth coordination of deliveries and asset management.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Supply Chain, Inventory, or Hospitality Operations.
  • 3+ years’ experience in stock control or logistics (preferably in events or hospitality).
  • Proficiency in Excel and inventory management systems.
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • Physically capable of handling event equipment safely.
  • POS system experience is advantageous.
