Your Mission: Managing Care and Empowering Lives

As a Specialised Healthcare Coach, you’ll be at the forefront of managing clinical risk and ensuring our members receive the most clinically appropriate treatment. This role is a perfect blend of your clinical expertise and your passion for patient advocacy. You will work to manage clinical risk and authorize appropriate, cost-effective treatment through outbound interventions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Patient and Provider Liaison: You’ll be the key point of contact for patients, providers, and disease management companies, answering queries and ensuring a smooth healthcare journey.
• Disease Management Expertise: You will handle queries related to oncology and other chronic conditions, educating members on their benefits and available preventative health programs.
• Proactive Interventions: You will initiate outbound contact with patients and providers to monitor progress and support early detection programs.
• Guidance and Education: You will guide and educate members on their healthcare options and benefits, ensuring they have the information they need to make informed decisions.
• Clinical Authorization: You will apply clinical guidelines and policies to authorize appropriate and cost-effective medical care.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a registered nurse with a strong background in clinical care, especially in oncology. We are looking for someone who is empathetic, highly organized, and has a strong customer orientation.

Requirements include:

• Nursing Diploma or Degree is essential.
• Minimum of 4 years of clinical experience, including 2 years in oncology is essential.
• Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) is a must.
• Experience in managed health care would be a significant advantage.
