Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) has a fantastic opportunity for a Special Events Coordinator to join our team in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. This is a permanent role where you’ll be instrumental in planning, coordinating, and implementing sales execution activities to boost sales volumes and enhance brand loyalty.

Your Dynamic Role and Responsibilities

As the Special Events Coordinator, you’ll be the driving force behind our brand activations and promotions. You will work closely with the sales team to ensure every event, promotion, and campaign is a resounding success, from concept to execution.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Event Coordination: Effectively plan and manage all special events, including the execution of a school’s sampling program and experiential marketing activities in line with brand plans.
• Promotion and Sales Support: Identify promotion opportunities, manage resources for sales locations, and ensure the successful execution of all promotions and advertising.
• Asset and Budget Management: You will manage special events assets and a budget, ensuring every cent is spent to maximize impact and deliver a strong return on investment.
• Communication and Reporting: Communicate promotions and campaigns, track and monitor their execution, and compile comprehensive reports to evaluate their success.
• Team Leadership: Support, guide, and coach the special events team and customers, helping to develop strong relationships and ensure everyone is aligned with our “Picture of Success” standards.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a creative, service-oriented individual with a proven track record in special events and a strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Education: Matric and a relevant Tertiary qualification (Diploma or Degree in Sales and Marketing or Public Relations).
• Experience: 3-5 years of relevant special events activation experience is essential.
• Skills: Excellent planning, organizing, and controlling skills, along with computer literacy in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Driving: A valid Code 8 Driver’s License.
• Attributes: You must be a creative, innovative, and service-oriented person who is prepared to work weekends and can communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
