Are you a highly experienced and strategic Project Manager with a proven track record in the mining industry? De Beers Group is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join its Projects Team in Cape Town, South Africa. This is a permanent, senior-level role where you’ll be at the forefront of delivering technical systems and technology to the De Beers Diamond value chain.

This is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise to both marine and land-based operations, including both underground and open pit mining. If you have a deep understanding of multi-disciplinary projects and a passion for innovation and safety, this role is for you.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Project Leadership: Identify and define project needs, develop strategies, and manage all aspects of scope, cost, change, and schedule.
• Financial Management: Develop project capital and operating cost estimates and control expenditure to ensure efficient cash flow.
• Risk & Quality Control: Formulate and manage a quality management program and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Procurement & People Management: Develop procurement plans and directly manage a team to ensure individual and collective objectives are met.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• A BSc Degree in Engineering or a postgraduate qualification in project management.
• 15 years of post-qualification experience with at least 10 years in project management of large, multi-disciplinary projects.
• A proven track record of managing big mining projects, especially in land-based operations (open pit and underground).
• Experience in the design and layout development of underground infrastructure, mine shaft development, and treatment plants.
• An in-depth understanding of developing CAPEX and OPEX estimations.
• A solid understanding of Systems Acquisition, IDM, and PMBOK processes.
