Job Summary

Exxaro Resources is looking for a Senior Investigation Officer to join their team in Lephalale, Limpopo. This role is pivotal in fostering a safe and compliant work environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing magazine regulations, conducting investigations and searches, performing case follow-ups, and implementing crime prevention strategies. This is a permanent position that requires a proactive leader who can contribute to cost savings and promote a safety-focused culture.

Minimum Requirements

• Qualifications:
  • N Diploma in Security and Risk Management (Essential).
  • Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority Grade A certification (Essential).
  • Certificate in Investigation (Essential).
  • Appointment as Deputy Explosives Magazine Master (Essential).
  • Certificate in Incident Investigation (Essential).
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field is recommended.
• Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in a policing environment (Essential).
• Additional Requirements:
  • Psychometric Assessment (to be conducted by Exxaro).
  • Certificate of Fitness (to be conducted by Exxaro).
  • Proficiency with Alcohol Level Test Equipment (blowers & SD400) (Essential).

Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough investigations of reported incidents and analyze findings to recommend corrective and preventative actions.
• Manage explosive storage magazine operations in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and local authorities to streamline investigative processes.
• Supervise and guide the investigation team, ensuring effective case management and timely completion of all tasks.
• Perform risk audits and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks and enhance security measures.
• Facilitate and conduct detailed searches and arrests in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Act.
• Ensure all security and administrative tasks related to the management of sensitive materials are performed with precision.
• Promote a culture of safety and adherence to all Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) policies.
• Oversee customer and stakeholder relationships by providing professional support and maintaining open communication.
• Participate in training programs and skill-enhancement sessions.
