Position Overview
As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of Sanlam Fintech’s data transformation journey. Your role will focus on building analytics-friendly data products and modernizing analytics engineering practices company-wide. You’ll use data to create meaningful insights that shape the future of financial confidence across Africa.

Key Achievements in the First 12 Months

• Develop the first version of Sanlam Fintech’s Friendly Data Design, including conceptual and logical models.
• Build friendly data tables for the five most-consumed domain events in Snowflake using DBT.
• Drive alignment across data teams by standardizing design principles, language, and production standards.
• Coach and mentor junior analytics engineers and business analysts to elevate the company’s analytics engineering practice.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5+ years’ experience in analytics, data engineering, or analytics engineering.
• Advanced SQL skills and hands-on experience with dbt or similar transformation frameworks.
• Strong background in data modeling, semantic design, and building analytics-ready data products.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, AWS Glue, or other cloud data platforms.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD for data pipelines, and Airflow.
• Proven collaboration with both analytical and engineering teams.
