The SANEDI (South African National Energy Development Institute) Energy Secretariat is seeking two dedicated Security Officers / Drivers to join our team on a three-year fixed-term contract. This is a unique opportunity to play a dual role, ensuring the safety of our Sandton facilities while also providing essential driving services.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Security Officer / Driver, you will be the first line of defense for our facilities, personnel, and assets. Your primary responsibility will be to prevent crime and respond to emergencies, all while acting as a visible deterrent to potential threats. You will also provide crucial driving support to the department.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Security Operations: Actively monitor for suspicious activity, patrol the premises, and provide a rapid response in crisis situations.
• Emergency Response: Be prepared to handle any emergencies that arise, ensuring the safety of all personnel and assets.
• Driving Services: Provide reliable driving services, adhering to all road rules and regulations.
• Administrative Support: Utilize basic computer literacy to support security operations and maintain accurate records.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a highly reliable and adaptable individual with a strong background in the security industry.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Education: A minimum Grade 12 Certificate.
• Security Certification: An accredited and registered Grade C or B Security Certification (PSIRA) with your own licensed firearm.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in the security industry.
• Driving: A valid Code B Driver’s License with a Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• Technical Skills: Basic computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Background Check: A clean criminal record and a willingness to undergo regular criminal checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Safety or Emergency Response Training.
