The Opportunity

We are seeking a results-driven and passionate Sales Representative to be the local face of our Bakeries division. This critical frontline role is responsible for driving sales and business growth by expertly managing a defined route schedule within the East London geographical area.
As a Sales Expert, you will focus on maximizing in-store sales through strategic planning, effective order-writing, and comprehensive in-store support activities, including merchandising, inventory management, stock rotation, and pricing compliance. Success in this role requires a dedication to utilizing market intelligence and consumer data to proactively address customer needs and secure mutually beneficial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities (What You Will Do)

Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and maintain expert-level knowledge of the Tiger Brands product portfolio, sales systems, and operational procedures.

Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain robust business relationships with key store management, striving to deliver exceptional value and service that exceeds customer expectations.

In-Store Planning: Conduct tailored, fact-based sales presentations and implement programs based on customer needs, store demographics, and current consumer base.

Inventory & Ordering: Collaborate with customers to optimize product ordering and ensure sufficient stock levels to meet consumer demand.

Merchandising & Compliance: Implement Point-of-Purchase (POP) drivers according to brand and customer plans. Conduct regular stock-takes, ensure promotional space utilization, and verify pricing agreements and SKU-by-category space allocations are adhered to as per trade agreements.

Team Collaboration: Effectively communicate plans and manage merchandising resources in conjunction with the Merchandiser to ensure inventory is fully stocked, rotated, and optimally presented at all times.

Administration & Reporting: Process and dispose of all returns correctly. Act as the vital link between our Customer Managers and customer store management. Timely present deal sheets to buyers and meticulously manage all customer documentation and administration (claims, application forms, payments, etc.).

Market Intelligence: Proactively gather and report on key intelligence, including customer preferences, competitor activity, and pricing trends.
Qualifications and Experience
Required Experience
-
3-5 years of proven field sales experience.

Direct experience within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry is essential.

Minimum Grade 12 (or equivalent).
