AFGRI, a leader in the agricultural industry, is looking for a dynamic Relationship Manager to join our team in Harrismith. This is a pivotal role where you will be responsible for managing client relationships, expanding our lending portfolio, and ensuring the delivery of an exceptional client experience.
What You’ll Do: A Role Rooted in Growth and Strategy
As a Relationship Manager, you will be the face of our business, responsible for every aspect of the client relationship, from new business development to credit risk management. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Client Engagement and Business Development: You will build and maintain strong client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and present tailored financial solutions to meet our clients’ unique needs. You’ll also represent us at industry events and farmers’ days to drive growth.
- Credit Application Management: You’ll be responsible for collecting and reviewing client financial documentation, preparing and evaluating credit applications, and managing credit risk to ensure compliance with all policies and regulations.
- Operational Excellence: You’ll monitor account performance and market trends, ensuring the timely processing of all client requests and compiling accurate reports for our internal teams.
- Ad-Hoc and Cross-Functional Contributions: You’ll support broader team initiatives and address emerging market opportunities and challenges.
What You’ll Need to Bring to the Table
The ideal candidate is a proactive and results-oriented professional with a strong background in agricultural finance.
- Education & Experience: A BSc or BCom in Agricultural Economics, Finance, or a related field is required. You must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in agricultural financing. Relevant certifications in financial analysis or credit risk management are a definite advantage.
- Skills: You must have an in-depth knowledge of agricultural financing and credit risk management. Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel skills is essential, as are excellent communication skills in both Afrikaans and English. We’re looking for someone with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities who can work independently and under pressure.
- Competencies: We need a strategic thinker who is results-oriented, possesses exceptional interpersonal skills, and is adaptable and willing to travel extensively.
