Role Overview
As an R&D Support Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional internal customer service and resolving infrastructure and application incidents escalated to the R&D team. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to maintain the reliability and performance of mission-critical systems, while driving improvements in our support processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve infrastructure and application incidents from production and pre-production environments.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Operations, and R&D teams to ensure high-quality technical support.
- Manage, triage, and prioritize incidents and service requests for R&D support.
- Identify root causes of issues and work toward effective long-term solutions.
- Ensure all incident details, sample data, and supporting documentation are accurate and complete.
- Gain and maintain detailed knowledge of company products to support troubleshooting and documentation efforts.
- Track progress of R&D support tickets, ensuring timely delivery and resolution.
- Coordinate with R&D teams to engage the right resources for critical issues.
- Proactively communicate ticket updates and resolution status to internal stakeholders.
- Provide regular reporting and analysis on R&D support ticket trends and performance.
Decision-Making & Influence
- Support prioritization between production incidents, new product implementations, and release management.
- Assist in developing and improving the company’s incident management processes.
- Advise management on issues requiring escalation or additional resources.
- Engage with internal teams to identify and implement process improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a software development or technical support environment.
- Hands-on experience working directly with internal or external customers.
- Knowledge of web services and APIs.
- Understanding of SQL and basic scripting languages (Perl, Shell).
- Solid understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and general tech infrastructure.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to explain technical issues to non-technical audiences.
- Motivated self-starter with a proactive and adaptable mindset.
- Team-oriented individual with integrity, attention to detail, and a “can-do” attitude.
