The Impact You’ll Make

As a Quality Assurance Officer, you will be instrumental in upholding and enhancing our Quality Management System (QMS) across our Clinical Trials and Biorepository functions. You will not only ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks but also pioneer innovative quality practices. By collaborating with various teams, conducting thorough audits, and providing essential training, you’ll help foster a high-performance culture where integrity and patient well-being are paramount.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the implementation and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Maintaining audit readiness and managing document lifecycles.
• Proactively resolving non-conformances to drive continuous improvement.
• Preparing for internal and external audits and inspections.
• Mentoring staff and reinforcing a culture of quality across the organization.

What We’re Looking For

To excel in this role, you should possess a strong academic background and extensive professional experience.

Essential Qualifications:

• A National Diploma in Biomedical Technology.
• HPCSA registration as a Medical Technologist in a relevant discipline (e.g., Clinical Pathology, Chemistry, Haematology, Microbiology, or Molecular Biology).
• Training in ISO 15189.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• At least four years of experience as a medical technologist in a pathology laboratory.
• Proven track record of working with quality systems and conducting internal audits.
• Training in ISO 9001:2015 and internal auditing certification.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and methodologies.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
