We’re looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client, a leader in the construction and mining industry. This contractor position, based in the North West, is for a professional who can expertly handle project budgets, contracts, and financial reporting while collaborating with project teams and key stakeholders.

What You’ll Be Doing

As our Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be the financial anchor of our projects, responsible for:

• Financial Guardianship: You’ll manage project budgets to meet and exceed client expectations, conducting continuous cost monitoring, forecasting, and financial reporting. You’ll also report on potential cost variations and recommend corrective actions to keep projects on track.
• Contract and Tender Management: Your expertise will be crucial in preparing tender and contract documentation, including bills of quantities. You’ll also prepare and adjudicate contract modifications, ensuring all agreements are clear and effective.
• Strategic Advisory: You’ll act as a key liaison between clients, site managers, and engineers, providing strategic advice on project improvements, cost estimations, and risk mitigation.
• Payments and Reporting: You’ll compile monthly progress payment certificates, approve payments for contractors and subcontractors, and track changes in plans to update budgets accordingly. You’ll also present monthly financial reports to clients, offering transparency and insights.

Do You Have What It Takes?

The ideal candidate is a registered professional with a minimum of 10 years of experience and a deep understanding of the industry. You should have:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Engineering, Management, or a related field.
• Professional Registration: You must be a registered Professional Quantity Surveyor (PrQS).
• Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in quantity surveying within the general, mining, or construction environments.
• Expertise: Proven experience in contract management, tender preparation, and cost reporting. A strong knowledge of relevant property taxes, regulations, and local laws is also a must.
