Main Purpose of the Job
The Professional Nurse, working within a multidisciplinary team, is responsible for delivering safe, comprehensive, and high-quality nursing care in line with Scope of Practice regulations. The role includes leading and coordinating nursing teams to ensure optimal patient care outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi-professional healthcare team.
• Identify, prevent, and manage clinical risks to ensure patient safety.
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by maintaining a supportive care environment.
• Accurately document all nursing interventions and ensure proper record-keeping.
• Create and maintain a learning environment that enhances staff competence.
• Ensure all utilised stock and equipment are correctly managed and recorded.

Education Requirements
Essential:

• 4-year Nursing Diploma or Bachelor of Nursing

Desired:

• Postgraduate Advanced Diploma in Midwifery
• Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (e.g. Critical Care, Emergency Care, Peri-operative Nursing) for placement in specialist units

Experience Requirements
Essential:

• None

Desired:

• Experience as a Psychiatric Nurse within a private healthcare environment

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Basic Life Support (ACLS, ATLS, PALS for specialised wards)
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
• Ability to develop or modify nursing care plans
• Knowledge of infection prevention and control
• Understanding of nursing processes, procedures, and documentation
• Strong patient assessment skills
• Pharmacology knowledge
• Awareness of relevant nursing legislation
• Risk identification and management
• Application of scientific nursing principles and processes
