About the Role

Nedbank is looking for a Process Engineer (CoE Specialist) to work with business and project teams in identifying, designing, and implementing improvements in complex business processes. The successful candidate will leverage Business Process Management (BPM) principles, tools, and methodologies to drive efficiency, improve performance, and support strategic transformation initiatives across the organisation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Define the scope and estimates for process improvement initiatives.
  • Plan and execute process deliverables according to project methodologies.
  • Work with business stakeholders to prioritise and align process-related initiatives.
  • Conduct As-Is and To-Be process analysis, identifying opportunities for optimisation.
  • Lead process transformation projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and to quality standards.
  • Build business cases demonstrating value creation and calculate ROI for proposed changes.
  • Map and analyse cross-functional value chains linking strategy to process architecture.
  • Design end-to-end operating models and apply Enterprise Architecture frameworks.
  • Develop process measurement analytics tied to performance metrics and collaborate on analytics tools.
  • Oversee benefit realisation for implemented process improvements.
  • Apply change management principles, develop communication and mitigation plans for organisational impacts.
  • Utilise BPMS and RPA tools to support process automation and efficiency.
  • Work closely with data architects to define data flow, transformation, and integration needs.
  • Apply big data concepts to support insights, customer experience management, and process research.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and their application in the BPM landscape.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and alignment with Nedbank’s risk appetite.
  • Promote and apply Nedbank process methods and practices within all assigned initiatives.

Qualifications

πŸŽ“ Essential:

  • Advanced Diploma or National First Degree

πŸŽ“ Preferred Certifications:

  • LEAN / Six Sigma (Yellow Belt)
  • CBPP (Certified Business Process Professional)
  • Business Analysis Certification

Experience Requirements

πŸ“ˆ Minimum:

  • 7–10 years’ experience in process engineering, BPM, or performance improvement.
  • 3–5 years’ managerial or leadership experience.
  • Proven proficiency in BPM, Change Management, and collaborative project execution.
  • Demonstrated leadership in process and performance improvement projects.

Technical & Professional Knowledge

  • Business principles and project management.
  • Regulatory knowledge and compliance standards.
  • Reporting tools, analytics, and performance measurement.
  • System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Modelling techniques (EPC / BPMN / UML).
  • Business consulting and facilitation.
