Are You Our Next Pharmacy Manager in Soweto?
Are you a licensed pharmacist with a passion for leadership and a knack for retail operations? We’re searching for a dedicated Pharmacy Manager to join our team at Medirite Dobsonville in Soweto.
This is more than just a dispensing role; it’s a chance to lead a team, ensure a smooth-running operation, and provide exceptional service to our community. If you are a natural leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply.
What You’ll Be Doing
As the Pharmacy Manager, you’ll be responsible for the seamless operation of the entire pharmacy. Your key responsibilities will be split into four areas:
- Individual Tasks: This includes the core duty of dispensing medication and providing expert advice.
- Operational Management: You will oversee all daily operations, from pharmacy administration and stock control to ensuring the highest standards of customer service. You’ll also be involved in sales and marketing campaigns.
- Leadership: You’ll be responsible for developing and tutoring your team, including interns and assistants. Your leadership will motivate staff and ensure a high-performing and compliant environment.
- Cross-Functional Relationships: You’ll manage relationships with key stakeholders, including prescribers, suppliers, and the store manager, and handle the pharmacy’s budget.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
We’re looking for a skilled professional with a strong background in pharmacy and management. The ideal candidate will have:
- Qualifications: A Bachelor of Pharmacy degree or an equivalent qualification is essential. You must be registered as a pharmacist at the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC). Being a registered tutor is a bonus.
- Experience: Proven experience in managing staff and working in a retail pharmacy environment is a must.
- Knowledge & Skills: You should have a solid understanding of retail operations, pharmacy legislation, and financial management principles. Strong computer literacy, particularly with MS Office, is required. Experience with dispensing systems like Unisolv and Marconi (advantageous) is also a plus.
This is a permanent position in Soweto, with a closing date for applications on September 22, 2025.
If you’re ready to lead a team and make a real difference in the health and well-being of our community, we look forward to hearing from you.
