Main Purpose of the Job
To assist in delivering a comprehensive, professional, and cost-effective pharmaceutical service to hospital patients and the public.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure availability of medicines and scheduled substances for hospital stores and the public
• Dispense medicines accurately and efficiently
• Maintain effective stock control of medicines and scheduled substances

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Understanding of current pharmaceutical legislation (e.g., Medicines and Related Substances Control Act)
• Knowledge of good pharmacy practices
• Understanding of medical aid schemes, benefits, and formularies
• Familiarity with clinical pharmacy and antimicrobial stewardship principles
• Proficiency in pharmacy systems such as UNISOLVE and AS400
• Financial management awareness
• Strong ethical product knowledge
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
