Main Purpose of the Job

The MHR Business Developer will play a key role in promoting MHR and driving business growth by attracting new clients, supporting marketing initiatives, and managing recruitment operations. This role involves a strong mix of business development, marketing, and recruitment coordination, with nationwide travel to meet potential clients and partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Acquisition & Relationship Management:
    • Attract and source new clients across South Africa.
    • Travel to meet potential clients and negotiate contracts.
    • Build and maintain long-term stakeholder relationships.
  • Marketing & Brand Promotion:
    • Identify, plan, and coordinate events to promote MHR to clients and candidates.
    • Collaborate with regional teams and operations to execute marketing campaigns.
    • Assist with website design, management, and maintenance.
    • Develop and implement Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) strategies to enhance MHR’s online visibility.
  • Recruitment Support & Coordination:
    • Provide specialised recruitment support (training provided).
    • Manage and coordinate recruitment projects and team activities.
    • Oversee MHR’s recruitment systems, folders, and communication channels.
    • Support internal stakeholders with recruitment and marketing initiatives.

Required Education

Essential:

  • Grade 12 Certificate
  • Qualification in Human Resources Management, Business, or Marketing

Required Experience

Essential:

  • 3–5 years of marketing and sales experience, including client acquisition and contract negotiation.
  • Proven experience in company promotion and brand representation.
  • Experience using social media platforms for marketing and client engagement.
  • Advantageous experience (training provided):
    • Recruitment and selection (3–5 years preferred).
    • Advertising job vacancies on social media.

Desired:

  • Recruitment and selection experience within the healthcare sector.
  • Hands-on experience in SEO and website traffic growth.

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of employer branding (e.g., expos, open days, congresses).
  • Excellent client service, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain a professional image.
  • Fluent in English with strong verbal and written communication.
  • Effective planning, organisation, and small team management skills.
  • Knowledge of recruitment processes including advertising, sourcing, screening, and assessment (training available).
  • Familiarity with relevant labour legislation (BCEA, Employment Equity Act, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel – intermediate level).
