The Opportunity: Medical Sales Representative

Cipla is seeking a motivated and results-oriented Medical Sales Representative to join our Sales – Scripting (W&M Health) Division in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape. This is a permanent position reporting to the Regional Sales Manager.

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to drive the profitable sales of Cipla products and cultivate strong relationships with the medical community, hospitals, other health centers, and sales outlets. The successful candidate will foster a deep understanding and acceptance of Cipla’s products and policies within these key stakeholder groups.

Key Accountabilities

• Achieve Sales Targets: Meet personal sales targets by promoting and selling the full range of Cipla products and services within identified markets and geographies. This includes:
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Demonstrating products and assisting clients in selecting the most suitable options.
  • Conducting presentations and follow-up calls regarding existing and new products.
  • Actively resolving customer problems and complaints.
  • Conducting informative meetings with general practitioners, pharmacists, and specialists, maintaining detailed visit records.
• Market Analysis & Reporting: Analyze market trends, stay abreast of new developments, identify sales risks and opportunities, and report findings to management regarding market trends and gaps.
• Prepare Sales Documentation: Prepare compelling sales presentations, contracts, and proposals to ensure successful transaction outcomes.
• Stakeholder Adherence & Support: Coordinate adherence to customer and internal/external stakeholder policies and procedures. Facilitate cross-functional integration to provide comprehensive support and guidance, including:
  • Adhering to customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and performance criteria.
  • Conducting business reviews with customers to ensure compliance with governance and business procedures.
  • Providing monthly and quarterly feedback on performance deliverables and contracts.
  • Identifying development areas and proactively addressing gaps to initiate new business opportunities.
  • Acting as a champion and ambassador for Cipla’s service culture.
  • Optimizing individual contributions to best serve the business.
• Financial Management Support: Assist in financial management by generating monthly cost control reports comparing expenditure against allocated budgets and planning monthly spending.

Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant Diploma or Degree.
• 2-5 years of experience in a sales role, with a strong preference for experience in Pharmaceutical/Medical Sales.
