Your Role and Responsibilities

As the Manager of Data and Analytics, you’ll be a key leader, responsible for delivering data-driven solutions and using advanced analytics to enhance decision-making across the business. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying new business opportunities and strengthening Capitec’s leadership in the analytics space.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Data-Driven Solutions: Deliver innovative data-driven solutions that directly address business requirements and drive growth.
• Strategic Insights: Translate strategic plans into actionable insights, helping to inform decisions at senior and executive levels.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a dynamic team, promoting collaboration and best practices to unlock their full potential.
• Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with senior and executive-level stakeholders, influencing key decisions with your analytical expertise.
• Innovation: Drive innovation and simplify complex processes, ensuring Capitec remains at the forefront of data and analytics.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a strong background in data analytics and a proven track record of leadership in a commercial setting.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics.
• Experience: Over 10 years of experience in a commercial setting, including 4+ years in a team leadership or managerial capacity. Experience in the telecommunications industry is a plus.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, data visualization tools like Power BI, and experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft). You should also have knowledge of big data frameworks like Hadoop/Kafka and tools like GitHub.
• Attributes: We are looking for a leader with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication and presentation abilities, and a strategic, commercial mindset.
