As we continue to expand, we’re looking for a Management Accountant to join our Milling Operating Unit in Pretoria West. This role will provide commercial support, financial analysis, and process improvement insights to maximize business value in alignment with RCL’s strategic goals.

Minimum Requirements

• BCom Accounting / BCom Hons (Accounting preferred).
• CIMA / CA(SA) qualification will be advantageous.
• 2–5 years relevant experience in a similar role.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Management Accountant or equivalent in a manufacturing environment (FMCG preferred).
• Syspro system experience advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

1. Capex Management

• Review and provide commercial input on Capex applications.
• Coordinate post-implementation Capex reviews.
• Manage and monitor actual vs target vs forecast Capex spend monthly.

2. BOM Management

• Collaborate with R&D on new product and BOM costings.
• Oversee continuous BOM and routing audits.
• Evaluate proposed product cost changes and new product costings.
• Maintain integrity of the NPD approval process for BOM changes.
• Monitor post-launch performance and financial impact of product updates.

3. Cost Centre Management & Maintenance

• Conduct cost reviews and variance analysis.
• Empower cost centre owners with financial tracking tools.
• Identify and track cost-saving opportunities.
• Review month-end close processes and rate tables within the ERP system.

4. Stock Take Management

• Coordinate and manage monthly stock take processes.
• Perform variance analysis and reporting on inventory accuracy.

5. Reporting

• Prepare weekly performance dashboards and trackers.
• Draft variance analysis reports and commentary for monthly reporting.
• Manage month-end reporting timelines and flash reports.
• Maintain profitability models and investigate financial anomalies.

6. Budgeting & Forecasting

• Develop and maintain robust forecasting tools and models.
• Support annual business planning and quarterly forecasting.
• Assist in expense budgeting for operational and service functions.
• Prepare and review plans, budgets, and Capex forecasts for the unit.

7. Information & Data Management

• Ensure accurate and timely operational and HR KPI reporting.
• Provide management with reliable data for strategic decision-making.

8. Projects & Ad-Hoc Initiatives

• Drive optimization of financial processes aligned with strategic goals.
• Lead and implement SIA projects in assigned areas.
• Review contract proposals for commercial viability.

9. Technical Expertise & Support

• Provide financial insights and recommendations in management meetings.
• Ensure deliverables are completed accurately, on time, and to high standards.
