Beyond Fixing: Become the Strategy Architect as a Maintenance Planner at VOPS Alrode! 🔧

Dreaming big is in our DNA. It’s who we are as a company—always looking forward and serving up new ways to meet life’s moments. We look for people with passion, talent, and curiosity, and provide them with the teammates, resources, and opportunities to unleash their full potential.

Are you the engineering professional ready to be the brain behind our plant reliability?

We are searching for a highly skilled Maintenance Planner to join our team at VOPS Alrode. The key purpose of this full-time role is not just to schedule repairs, but to facilitate continuous improvement in plant reliability through robust TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) development and expert maintenance/project planning.

The Role: Architecting Reliability and Efficiency

You will be the vital link between engineering, production, and execution, ensuring every maintenance task is planned, executed, analyzed, and improved upon. This role demands deep technical knowledge, mastery of maintenance systems, and an unwavering commitment to problem-solving.

Key Pillars of Accountability: What You’ll Be Driving

Your expertise will be essential in three high-impact areas:

1. Maintenance Scheduling & Execution

  • System-Driven Scheduling: Utilize the maintenance planning system (like SAP) to generate comprehensive routine maintenance schedules, including required cleaning, lubrication, and inspection tasks.
  • Resource Allocation: Strategically allocate resources, generate works orders, and communicate schedules effectively to production, engineering, and support teams to resolve any work or resource conflicts.
  • Compliance & Feedback: Verify that routine maintenance schedules are completed and that shift teams adhere to their autonomous maintenance tasks. You’ll provide feedback on efficiency and highlight non-compliance.
  • Spares Management: Take ownership of the spares process—ordering, following up on outstanding items, and ensuring all required parts are ready for maintenance day execution.

2. Maintenance Systems Management & Data Analysis

  • System Ownership: Manage and maintain the integrity of our maintenance systems (like SAP PM), ensuring correct operational use and high data quality.
  • Data-Driven Insight: Conduct rigorous analysis on maintenance data to accurately identify failure modes and root causes of maintenance problems.
  • Actionable Reporting: Generate and communicate required maintenance reports to key stakeholders. When data analysis indicates necessary work, you must communicate this to the engineering team and ensure it’s integrated into the planned schedules.

3. Planned Maintenance & Problem Solving

  • Pre-Meeting Leadership: Facilitate and lead the planned maintenance pre-meeting, meticulously discussing work required, problems to be addressed, and resource requirements.
  • Execution Support: During the planned maintenance period, you will actively support the maintenance team, assisting with problem solving, work prioritization, and resource re-allocation to keep the process moving efficiently.
  • Post-Mortems: Lead the maintenance post-mortems, facilitating discussions on problems encountered, opportunities identified, and lessons learned to feed the continuous improvement loop.
  • Root Cause Resolution: Apply the correct problem-solving approaches (like 5-Why or Fishbone Analysis) to resolve problems encountered during routine and planned activities, escalating to the engineer for direction when necessary.

What You’ll Bring to Our Engineering Team

We’re looking for a highly organized, systems-proficient engineer ready to embrace a supervisory role.

  • Education: A Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years of Production Engineering experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory level role.
  • Technical Skills: Must be PC literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Project/Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Attributes: Strong problem-solving ability, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to lead cross-functional teams toward common reliability goals.
