The Role

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be a crucial part of our maintenance team, reporting directly to the Shift Artisan. Your primary responsibility will be to assist with all electrical, mechanical, and civil maintenance and repair work on our machinery and equipment.

This is a permanent, full-time position where you’ll be on the front lines, helping to ensure our operations run smoothly and efficiently.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Mechanical & Electrical Support: You’ll assist with all maintenance and repair tasks on machinery and equipment, from scheduled maintenance plans to emergency electrical repairs during breakdowns.
• Civil Maintenance: You’ll help inspect and maintain water systems, water supplies, and buildings according to our maintenance schedules.
• General Duties: You’ll execute daily tasks as instructed by the Shift Artisan, conduct daily inspections to prevent breakdowns, and assist with special projects.
• Upholding Standards: You’ll ensure your work area and tools are clean and organized, adhering to strict food safety guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Are You the Perfect Fit?

We are looking for a motivated individual who is eager to learn and has a foundational knowledge of maintenance practices. The ideal candidate will have:

• Grade 12/Matric with Physical Science and Mathematics, or a Technical Senior Certificate.
• An N3 certificate in mechanical/electrical engineering is a definite plus.
• 1+ years of experience as a maintenance assistant in an FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) or similar environment.
• Knowledge of welding, measuring, and the correct use of tools.
