Your Mission: Power Our AI Strategy

As a Machine Learning Engineer within our Risk division, you’ll be at the heart of Capitec’s AI strategy. You’ll collaborate closely with Data Scientists and Decision Scientists to develop, implement, and maintain the platforms that bring their predictive models to life. Your work will be crucial in keeping Capitec at the forefront of a rapidly evolving industry where AI is a key strategic differentiator.

You will leverage your deep understanding of machine learning models and modern software development practices to build scalable, production-ready solutions. Your work will involve:

• Developing, implementing, and supporting platform improvements.
• Working extensively with Python and SQL to ensure models are robust and scalable.
• Utilizing PySpark and big data frameworks like Hadoop and Kafka.
• Using GitHub for version control.

Who We’re Looking For

Our ideal candidate is someone who is curious, continuously learns, and has the courage to act, adapt, and inspire. We’re seeking a professional with a proven track record of delivering high-quality work and a passion for technology.

Our ideal candidate has:

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in any engineering role.
• An Honors Degree or higher in any field.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with big data frameworks like PySpark, Hadoop, and Kafka.
• Familiarity with GitHub or other version control systems.
• Experience with AWS is a plus!
