The Road Accident Fund (RAF) is looking for a talented Legal Secretary: High Court to join our team in Johannesburg.

At the RAF, our mission is to provide support to all road users in South Africa, ensuring a safe use of our roads and providing timely assistance to those affected by accidents. We are seeking a dedicated individual to provide essential administrative support to our Legal Services Department, playing a key role in the day-to-day operations of our office.


Your Mission: The Heart of the Legal Office

As the Legal Secretary for the High Court, you will be a vital part of our legal team. Your work will directly support our attorneys and ensure the smooth flow of legal processes. This is a role that requires precision, a proactive approach, and a strong sense of responsibility.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Legal Secretarial Administration: Preparing court statements and forms, transcribing and proofreading legal documents, and managing court rolls.
  • Office Management: Maintaining correspondence, filing systems, and telephonic queries, all while upholding strict confidentiality.
  • Meeting & Diary Management: Arranging and confirming meetings, taking and distributing minutes, and managing team diaries.
  • Document Control: Ensuring our filing system is always up-to-date, managing the retrieval of information, and maintaining the confidentiality of all documents.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate has a National Diploma in Business Administration or a Law-related qualification, along with at least 2 years of relevant experience in a business or law administration environment. We are looking for someone with strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

You should be:

  • Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Trustworthy and dependable, with an understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
  • Proficient in English and at least one other official language.
  • An expert in planning, organizing, and coordinating tasks.
