Are you a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with a passion for employee growth? We’re looking for a dedicated Learning and Development Officer to join our team in Johannesburg on a fixed-term contract.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will be the heart of our Learning and Development (L&D) interventions. Your responsibilities will be diverse and will require a meticulous approach to coordination and administration. Your key duties will include:

  • Training Coordination: You will manage the entire training registration process, from informing stakeholders and managing requests to enrolling employees and communicating with them to ensure smooth execution.
  • Administrative Management: You’ll handle all administrative duties related to courses, including booking venues and equipment, meeting logistical requirements, and updating the learning calendar with critical events.
  • Financial Oversight: You will administer all costs associated with courses, liaising with vendors, ensuring invoices are correctly processed, and managing payments according to company guidelines.
  • System Maintenance: You will be responsible for maintaining our learning systems, ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date. You will also compile and submit monthly reports to help business unit managers track accurate information.
  • Document Control: You will ensure all hard-copy documentation is meticulously filed and managed for a smooth audit process.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in L&D coordination and a solid understanding of relevant legislation. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Education: A National Diploma in Human Resources Development/Behavioural Sciences or an equivalent qualification with a specialization in Training (Learning) and Development. A Grade 12 qualification is the minimum requirement.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in HR learning & development coordination and facilitation. You should have experience working with specialist learning vendors, coordinating learning programs, and handling administrative duties related to WSP/ATR and Employment Equity Reporting.
  • Skills: You must be proficient in MS Office and Excel. Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills are essential. A good knowledge of relevant labor legislation (such as BCEA, EEA, LRA, and SDL Act) and accreditation bodies (like SETA, SAQA, and QCTO) is also a must.
