This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional to lead, manage, and mentor a dynamic team, while overseeing financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency across the organization.

About the Role

As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will manage the company’s financial reporting processes, ensure accurate financial performance tracking, and provide insights for strategic decision-making. You will supervise and train finance staff, including bookkeepers and junior accountants, while overseeing areas such as Creditors, Debtors, Cash, Stock, Fixed Assets, Payroll, and more.

Your role also includes preparing budgets, monitoring internal controls, performing reconciliations, and managing tax obligations. You will ensure compliance with all group policies, IFRS, and tax legislation, and support both internal and external audit processes.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management:

• Prepare and review monthly management accounts, annual financial statements, and budgets.
• Monitor and ensure accurate processing of all accounting transactions.
• Oversee non-routine and complex transactions, including depreciation, impairments, finance costs, and management fees.
• Reconcile inter-company accounts, loan accounts, creditors, and trade debtors.
• Manage working capital, cash flow, and tax planning.
• Identify and implement improvements in internal controls.
• Assist the Group Financial Manager, CFO, and CEO with financial modeling, reporting, and ad hoc projects.

People Management:

• Supervise and mentor the junior finance team.
• Define roles, KPIs, and conduct annual performance reviews.
• Promote team morale, staff recognition, and talent retention.
• Uphold confidentiality, integrity, and ethical standards in all finance processes.

Compliance & Reporting:

• Ensure accurate reporting for internal audits, external audits, SARS, and BEE audits.
• Maintain proper financial documentation and records for audits and inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, IFRS standards, and tax regulations.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ commercial accounting experience.
• Software Skills: Pastel Evolution (or similar) and Microsoft Office.
• Qualifications (Bonus): Completion of SAICA articles; relevant degree or diploma.
