Indigo Brands, a leader in the personal care and beauty industry, is looking for a Human Resources Officer on a fixed-term contract to join their team in Epping, Cape Town. What You’ll Be Doing
As an HR Officer, you will be the backbone of our Human Resources department, providing crucial support across the entire employee life cycle. Your key areas of impact will include:
- Employee Life Cycle Management: You’ll manage the administrative side of the employee life cycle, from processing new hires and terminations to updating our HR systems and organograms.
- Industrial Relations & Guidance: You will assist and guide line managers on performance management, disciplinary procedures, and other Industrial Relations (IR) matters. You’ll also track and investigate anonymous ethics reports.
- Reporting & Compliance: You’ll prepare and process a variety of HR reports, assist with submissions for the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR), and ensure all HR audit requirements are met.
- Recruitment & Training: You will play a key role in the recruitment process, managing the on-boarding of new employees, and facilitating training programs like new employee induction.
- Union Relations: You’ll coordinate and set up meetings with unions and shop stewards, take minutes, and ensure all disciplinary and grievance procedures are handled correctly.
What It Takes to Succeed
We’re seeking a self-managed individual who thrives on challenges and is ready to hit the ground running. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience as an HR Officer, preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG environment. Experience working in a unionized environment and exposure to CCMA cases is essential.
- Qualifications: A completed Degree or Diploma in HR, Industrial Relations, or Industrial Psychology is required.
- Skills: Sound knowledge of relevant labor legislation (BCEA, LRA, etc.) is a must. You should also have experience with SAP or a similar ERP system.
