About the Role
The Human Capital Business Partner (Technology Talent) plays a key role in shaping and executing people strategies that attract, grow, and retain top technical talent within Sanlam’s SRS business. This role partners closely with IT leaders to develop a high-performing, engaged, and agile technology workforce.
The HRBP acts as both an advisor and hands-on partner, ensuring HR practices are tailored to the specific needs of technology professionals and aligned with agile delivery models.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Recruitment
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for technology roles, from workforce planning to onboarding.
- Develop sourcing strategies for niche tech skills via platforms such as LinkedIn, GitHub, and tech communities.
- Partner with hiring managers to define role profiles and selection criteria.
- Conduct CV screenings, competency-based interviews, and manage candidate experience.
- Provide insights on market trends, salary benchmarks, and talent availability.
Onboarding & Integration
- Design tailored onboarding journeys for agile tech teams.
- Ensure smooth integration of new hires into the company culture.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure systems and access are in place from day one.
Talent Management & Development
- Drive career pathing and growth frameworks for tech professionals.
- Support succession planning for critical roles.
- Partner with Learning & Development to curate tech-focused learning experiences.
- Encourage internal mobility and cross-functional exposure.
Performance Enablement
- Coach managers on performance reviews, feedback, and underperformance management.
- Use analytics to identify performance trends and recommend targeted interventions.
Employee Engagement & Experience
- Design engagement strategies that foster autonomy, mastery, and purpose within tech teams.
- Conduct pulse surveys and listening sessions to drive meaningful action.
- Promote a culture of psychological safety, inclusion, and innovation.
Culture & Organisation Effectiveness
- Support alignment of culture across newly integrated tech functions.
- Facilitate team effectiveness, role clarity, and change management.
- Monitor cultural impact and organisational cohesion using data-driven insights.
Line Manager Enablement
- Provide expert HR guidance on team dynamics, conflict resolution, and leadership.
- Empower line managers to build and sustain agile, high-performing teams.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field (required).
- Minimum 5 years of HR Business Partner experience, including at least 2 years supporting technology or digital teams.
- Proven experience working in agile, cloud, or engineering environments.
- Strong ability to influence senior stakeholders.
Knowledge and Skills
- HR consulting and strategic business partnering.
- Data analysis, interpretation, and trend identification in complex environments.
- Strong understanding of business operations and HR best practices.
- Proficient in developing and implementing HR solutions for tech-focused teams.
