Are you a seasoned HR professional with a passion for strategic leadership and a knack for creating a thriving workplace? We are looking for a dynamic and experienced HR Manager to join our team in KwaZulu-Natal, serving the Newcastle/Dundee region. If you have a strong background in manufacturing, mining, construction, or engineering and are ready to take on a crucial role in driving organizational success, we want to hear from you!
What You’ll Be Doing
As our HR Manager, you will be the driving force behind our HR strategy, ensuring it aligns perfectly with our business objectives. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to our business leaders, providing expert guidance and support on everything from talent acquisition to employee relations. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will manage the full scope of the HR function.
Key responsibilities include:
- Strategic HR Leadership: Developing and implementing HR strategies that support our company’s long-term goals and vision, with a focus on Employment Equity and B-BBEE compliance.
- Department Management: Leading and mentoring the HR team to foster a high-performance culture.
- Policy Development: Creating and updating HR policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and industry best practices, including understanding CompEasy compliance for COIDA and RMA.
- Industrial Relations: Overseeing employee relations, conflict resolution, and investigations to maintain a positive and inclusive workplace.
- Employee Engagement: Designing and managing programs to boost employee morale and team cohesion.
- Performance Management: Collaborating with department heads on performance systems, administering bonus programs, and managing annual increases and revised contracts.
- Talent Acquisition & Retention: Implementing strategies to attract, hire, and retain top talent.
- HR Automation: Driving the implementation of HR automation to enhance efficiency.
- Audit & Compliance Management: Managing audits from the Department of Labour and the Department of Home Affairs to ensure full compliance.
Who We’re Looking For
We need a proactive, flexible, and experienced leader with an in-depth understanding of HR principles and legislation.
Minimum requirements:
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in HR management, including leadership roles.
- Education: A Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Industry Experience: We prefer experience in a Mining, Manufacturing, Construction, or Engineering environment.
- Skills: You must have strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. You should be proficient in HR information systems and skilled in data analysis to provide actionable insights.
- Knowledge: An in-depth understanding of labor laws, regulations, and occupational health and safety standards relevant to the mining industry is a must.
