Are you a seasoned HR professional looking to make a meaningful impact? Oxford University Press Southern Africa is seeking a dynamic HR Business Partner to join our team in Goodwood, Cape Town. This is a unique opportunity to partner with our leadership to drive HR strategies that help people worldwide achieve their potential.
What You’ll Be Doing
As the primary point of contact for our business units, you’ll be much more than an HR administrator. You’ll be a strategic partner, a liaison, and a trusted advisor. Your responsibilities will span the full employee lifecycle, including:
- Business Partnering: Collaborate with senior management to understand business goals and provide HR support to meet talent needs.
- Employee Relations: Cultivate a healthy, open environment by building strong relationships with staff at all levels.
- Performance & Development: Support the rollout of performance cycles, providing coaching and training to managers.
- Talent Management: Drive key HR activities from recruitment and compensation to learning and development.
- Diversity and Inclusion: Help develop and execute our Employment Equity plan, ensuring a diverse and inclusive workforce.
- HR Projects: Take on both local and group-wide HR projects to support our evolving business needs.
Is This You?
We’re looking for someone with a solid foundation in HR and a passion for people. The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor’s or B-Tech Degree in Industrial Psychology, Human Resources, or Social Sciences.
- A minimum of 5 years of HR Business Partner experience.
- A strong understanding of HR practices across the employee lifecycle and labor legislation (LRA, BCEA, EE, SD).
- Excellent stakeholder management, problem-solving, and data analytical skills.
- The ability to think and work independently while being a great team player.
- Experience with HRIS, such as SAP and SuccessFactors, is a plus.
