Job Purpose

The eThekwini Municipality is seeking a qualified and experienced IT Security Officer to plan, manage, and implement IT security measures. This role is crucial in defending enterprise IT systems against security breaches, managing vulnerabilities, auditing existing systems, and administering security policies and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, manage, and operate network security systems and infrastructure.
• Provide advanced application-level support to resolve security system faults, including patch management and software updates.
• Utilize network management tools to identify and respond to security incidents.
• Conduct research, design, and implement security systems and fault management procedures.
• Investigate opportunities to enhance security system capabilities and update policies based on performance reports and observed threats.

Minimum Requirements

Preferred Requirements

• Degree (NQF Level 7) in ICT
• 4 years relevant experience in IT security management

Remuneration and Benefits

💰 Salary: R462,393.60 – R600,186.12 per annum
