This is an essential role where you’ll be an integral part of the engine room that keeps our production humming and facilities powered up!

The Role: Your Sparks of Brilliance

We’re seeking an Electrical Maintenance Assistant—a hands-on role focused on supporting the installation, repair, and maintenance of critical electrical equipment. You’ll ensure everything runs in line with all Electrical Codes, Standards, and Regulations, supporting our high standards of production and safety.

What You’ll Be Doing Day-to-Day:

1. Repairs and Maintenance

• Conduct essential daily maintenance checks across production areas, warehouses, and offices.
• Handle routine fixes, such as swapping bulbs, repairing plugs, and replacing switches.
• Assist with repairs on motors, transformers, generators, wiring, and more complex machinery.
• Troubleshoot faults, operate electrical testing equipment, and track down system gremlins.

2. Installations & Projects

• Prepare work areas and assist with wiring domestic and industrial installations.
• Support the building of electrical control panels and distribution boards.
• Help install new electrical points, connections, and production machinery.
• Accurately measure, cut, bend, and terminate wires—always adhering to code and standard.

3. Safety, Tools, and Operations

• Always follow safe working procedures and maintain strict compliance with OHS and Food Safety Standards (FSSC 22000).
• Proactively spot hazards before they become problems and report them promptly.
• Ensure all vehicles, tools, and generators are maintained, functional, and ready for use.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

This is a Junior-level, Permanent position for someone who is ready to learn and execute with precision.

• Minimum Requirement: Grade 12 (NQF Level 4).
• Must-Have: A valid Driver’s Licence (Code B).
• Knowledge Advantage: Familiarity with various electrical instruments, Electrical Codes, variable speed drives, and production machinery.
• Bonus Points: A Working-at-Heights Certificate (because sometimes, the best views are from the top of a ladder!).
