Dream Hotels & Resorts is searching for an experienced and dynamic Food and Beverage Manager to lead our team at the Olifants River Lodge in South Africa. This is a permanent position for a professional with a proven track record in a leadership role within a 4-star hospitality establishment.


Overview of the Role

As the Food and Beverage Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our food and beverage operations. Your role will be critical in ensuring high standards of quality, customer service, and profitability. You’ll be involved in everything from menu development and team management to financial oversight and event planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Menu Planning & Development: Collaborate with the culinary team to create appealing, profitable, and compliant menus.
  • Purchasing & Inventory: Manage the sourcing, purchasing, and inventory of all food and beverage supplies, negotiating with vendors to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and motivate a team of waiters, bartenders, and kitchen staff to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Quality & Compliance: Maintain strict quality control for food preparation and presentation, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets, analyze financial reports, and implement cost-control measures to achieve financial targets.
  • Event & Catering Management: Oversee food and beverage services for various events, including weddings and conferences.
  • Marketing & Promotions: Work with the marketing team to develop strategies that drive sales and enhance the dining experience.
  • Vendor Relations: Build strong relationships with suppliers and monitor performance to benefit the lodge.
  • Industry Trends: Stay up-to-date on industry trends and innovations to keep our offerings fresh and competitive.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: A Diploma or Degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is required.
  • Experience: You must have more than 3 years of proven food and beverage leadership experience in a 4-star establishment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and restaurant management software is essential. Experience with POS systems like HTI, Plus Point, Plus Central, and Apex is a plus.
