We are actively seeking a Financial & Business Development Executive to join our team in Midrand, a role that goes far beyond traditional accounting.

This isn’t your average desk job. We’re looking for a dynamic individual who can manage our financial health while also actively driving our growth. You will play a pivotal role in Mecer Inter-Ed’s success by:

  • Guiding Our Financial Future: You’ll be the master of our management and cost accounting, providing crucial insights into our profitability and performance. You’ll also oversee financial planning, forecasting, and cash flow, ensuring we stay on a steady path.
  • Fueling Our Business Growth: This is where you get to shine. You’ll identify, evaluate, and execute new business opportunities. You’ll work directly with our Managing Director to secure new customers and strategic contracts, leveraging your personal network to open doors with key decision-makers.
  • Crafting Winning Deals: Your sharp negotiation skills will be key in structuring deals that not only benefit us financially but also give us a strategic advantage. You’ll provide essential financial and commercial insights to support bids and vendor negotiations.
  • Acting as a Trusted Advisor: You’ll be a vital business partner, providing a balance of operational finance and business development expertise to our leadership team.

Do You Have What It Takes?

The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial, commercially astute, and hands-on professional with a proven track record. You should have:

  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years in a senior management role, ideally within a dynamic, growth-driven environment. We’re looking for someone with a strong background in management and cost accounting and demonstrated success in business development alongside financial leadership.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business. A professional qualification like CIMA or CFA is preferred.
  • Skills: The ability to navigate complex business, regulatory, and stakeholder landscapes, including BBBEE compliance. You should also be an exceptional negotiator and influencer.
