Main Purpose of the Role

The Enrolled Nurse provides safe, high-quality nursing care in line with the Scope of Practice. This role contributes to patient safety, positive experiences, and staff development within a specialised high care ward.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team.
• Identify, prevent, and report risks to ensure patient safety.
• Facilitate a positive patient experience by maintaining a conducive environment.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
• Support a learning environment that builds staff competence.
• Ensure all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged.

Required Education

• Essential: Enrolled Nurse Certificate
• Desired: CPD courses in a specialised area for specialised wards

Required Experience

• Essential: No prior experience required
• Desired: Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience before placement in a specialised unit

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Basic Life Support (BLS) trained
• Infection prevention and control
• Pharmacology knowledge
• Understanding of scientific nursing principles and processes
• Patient assessment skills
• Knowledge of nursing processes and procedures
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
• Familiarity with relevant nursing legislation
• Nursing care plan skills
• Risk identification
