In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing and executing strategic plans for multiple shafts, managing budgets, and ensuring strict compliance with all legislative requirements. You’ll lead a team of professionals, fostering an environment of high performance and continuous development.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Strategic Planning: Prepare short, medium, and long-term plans for maintenance and infrastructure to meet business objectives.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure legal compliance with engineering systems and legislation, and implement measures to continuously improve safety, health, and environmental (SHE) conditions.
• Leadership and Development: Provide strong leadership, manage your team’s performance, and create opportunities for their professional growth.
• Operational Excellence: Drive the implementation of systems and standards, identify opportunities for business improvement, and manage working costs and capital budgets.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• A Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• A Government Certificate of Competence – Mine (Electrical and/or Mechanical).
• A minimum of 10 years of experience as an appointed 2.13.1 Engineer on a mine.
• A valid certificate of physical fitness and computer literacy.
• Professional Engineer registration with ECSA and a business qualification are a plus.
