Vacancy: Assistant Dispenser at Kitengule Hospital
Kitengule Hospital is seeking a qualified and dedicated Assistant Dispenser to join our team.
1. Main Objective:
To assist the Pharmacist in the accurate preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medications, while ensuring proper inventory management and adherence to pharmaceutical standards and hospital protocols.
2. Minimum Qualifications:
- ADO certificate, or Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Pharmacy Technician Course from a recognized institution.
- Basic knowledge of drug names, dosages, and classifications.
- Computer literacy is an added advantage.
3. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in receiving and interpreting prescriptions accurately.
- Prepare and label medications under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
- Dispense prescribed medicines to patients and explain proper usage, if required.
- Assist in stock management including checking expiry dates, arranging inventory, and updating stock records.
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the dispensing area.
- Help in maintaining controlled substances records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Report any medication errors, shortages, or irregularities to the Pharmacist.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Pharmacist or supervisor.
4. Required Attributes:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Energetic, Confidentiality and professionalism in handling patient information.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
