Digital Technician – Sasol

Sasol, a global integrated chemicals and energy company, is looking for a skilled Digital Technician to join our team in Secunda, Mpumalanga. We are seeking a dedicated professional with a background in electrical engineering and a passion for maintaining and optimizing technical systems.

About the Role

The primary purpose of this role is to test, maintain, and modify electrical machinery and control equipment within our operational plants and laboratories. As a Digital Technician, you will be crucial in ensuring that all systems are in optimal condition, supporting the company’s commitment to safety and sustainability.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure that all work meets high standards of quality and is completed on time.
  • Adhere to the MOC (Management of Change) procedure for all system modifications.
  • Support the Asset Management philosophy and the maintenance strategy process to enhance equipment reliability.
  • Effectively control and optimize resources while being cost-conscious.
  • Independently gather and analyze technical information and data.
  • Actively contribute to a safe working environment and adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Continuously improve your skills and knowledge, taking ownership of your personal development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and multidisciplinary teams, providing valuable technical input.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for optimization and efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Formal Education: Grade 12/N3 with English, Maths, and Physical Science. An N6 or National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Control Instrumentation is required.
  • Knowledge & Experience: Expertise in PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and Variable Speed Drives.
  • Working Experience: A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • License: A valid driver’s license.
