Mr Price Money is seeking a dynamic Commercial Business Partner – Financial Services: Credit & Insurance to join our team. This pivotal role is focused on maximizing the performance of our credit and insurance portfolios by leveraging robust data analysis, deep market insights, and strategic collaboration across the business.

Key Purpose of the Role

To support and drive the profitability and strategic growth of the credit and insurance portfolios within Mr Price Money. The role involves leveraging data, market trends, and cross-functional collaboration to execute commercial projects and business solutions that align directly with senior management’s strategic objectives.

Core Responsibilities

The Commercial Business Partner will be responsible for executing strategies and driving performance across six core pillars:

1. Strategy Execution & Business Partnering

  • Collaborate with the Commercial Manager to execute defined credit and insurance strategies.

  • Partner with Marketing, Operations, and Business Intelligence (BI) teams to monitor and optimize portfolio performance across both new and existing customer segments.

  • Support the development and execution of omni-channel acquisition and distribution strategies for financial products.

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with external partners and suppliers to enhance product offerings and distribution efficiency.

2. Product Development & Performance Management

  • Assist in the design and execution of commercial models and financial forecasts for new product development initiatives.

  • Monitor core product profitability and customer segment performance, proactively recommending data-driven improvements.

  • Conduct market research and trend analysis to identify high-potential revenue growth opportunities.

  • Prepare comprehensive business cases to support product enhancements and strategic innovations.

3. Commercial Modelling & Business Intelligence

  • Work closely with Finance and BI teams to develop and maintain accurate profitability models, forecasts, and standardized reporting tools.

  • Analyze customer data, market dynamics, and channel performance to generate actionable commercial insights.

  • Support the implementation of spend stimulation and focused customer engagement initiatives.

4. Compliance & Risk Management

  • Collaborate with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure strict adherence to FAIS, NCR, and all other relevant regulatory requirements.

  • Support quarterly compliance reporting and the implementation of robust financial and operational controls.

  • Maintain expert, up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes in the credit and insurance landscape.

5. Project & Technology Leadership

  • Lead or provide high-level support for projects aimed at improving overall product and process performance.

  • Assist in the migration to scalable technology platforms, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and compliance standards.

  • Collaborate with IT and BI teams to automate and enhance reporting mechanisms and data accessibility.

Qualifications and Competencies

Education

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, or a related quantitative field.

  • Advantageous: Professional qualifications (e.g., CA(SA), CIMA, CFA, or equivalent).

Experience

  • Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in financial services, with direct exposure to credit, insurance, or retail finance.

  • Proven ability to analyse complex data, develop robust commercial models, and support strategic initiatives.

  • Experience in product development, distribution optimisation, or business intelligence is highly advantageous.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong commercial acumen and advanced analytical capabilities.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); demonstrable experience with BI tools and financial modeling.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Demonstrated project management experience and the ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities.

  • Familiarity with FAIS, NCR, and other relevant compliance standards.

  • Possess an entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and capitalizing on growth opportunities.
