The South African Reserve Bank (SARB) is a pillar of the country’s economy, with a primary mandate to protect the value of the currency in the interest of balanced and sustainable economic growth. We achieve this through various functions, from implementing monetary policy to managing the country’s gold and foreign exchange reserves.
Our Financial Markets Department (FMD) is at the heart of this work, acting as a key player in the domestic financial markets. We are responsible for implementing monetary policy decisions, managing the country’s reserves, and promoting the effective functioning of the financial system.
We are currently looking for a skilled and proactive Business Solutions Support Analyst to join our FMD team in Pretoria. If you have a passion for financial markets and a talent for technology and business analysis, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Business Solutions Support Analyst, you will be the bridge between our business needs and our technology solutions. You will provide critical support for the domestic business systems within the FMD, ensuring our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Requirements Gathering: Defining and interpreting business needs to create functional specifications for new and existing systems.
- System Implementation: Coordinating and guiding the implementation of new solutions, enhancements, and upgrades.
- Systems Management: Maintaining master data, managing system testing, and providing training and support to both internal and external users.
- Incident Resolution: Monitoring and facilitating the timely resolution of all systems-related issues.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and representing the department at industry forums.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate is a highly analytical professional with a solid background in both finance and technology.
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree (NQF 7) in Finance, Banking, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 5-7 years of relevant work experience as a Systems Analyst.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a treasury, capital, or financial markets environment.
- Key Skills:
- Strong product knowledge, with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of various business analysis practices, methodologies, and tools (e.g., BABOK v3.0).
- Practical experience with data/business intelligence projects and the Systems Development Life-Cycle (SDLC).
