- Acquire new clients: Focus on businesses with an annual turnover of R30m – R1b.
- Become a trusted advisor: Work with clients in specialized industries like agriculture, manufacturing, and fintech.
- Stay ahead of the curve: Keep up with the latest economic trends, from green energy to sustainable agriculture, to add real value to client interactions.
- Strategically cross-sell: Use your industry knowledge to identify and act on opportunities for growth.
- Build lasting relationships: Establish trust with key decision-makers and provide honest, constant feedback.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Business Manager, you’ll be the primary interface between the bank and our commercial clients. This means you’ll need to have a deep understanding of our products and services to recommend tailor-made solutions. You’ll also be responsible for managing credit risk, preparing complex credit applications, and ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements.
In a world driven by technology, you’ll also support the digitization of our clients’ businesses and champion sustainable development goals in line with Nedbank’s core purpose.
Do You Have What It Takes?
This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone with significant experience in the financial sector.
- Experience: A minimum of 7–10 years of experience in relationship management, with at least 2–3 years in business acquisition. Experience in the agricultural sector is a significant plus.
- Education: An Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s degree is essential. A BCom (Financial Management/Accounting) or BSc in Agriculture is preferred.
- Key Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills are crucial. You should also have a solid grasp of governance, risk, and controls.
