We are seeking a Business Analyst who can bridge the gap between business needs and technical delivery, driving continuous improvement and innovation across our Specialty business lines.
Role Overview
As a Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in understanding complex business requirements across Specialty portfolios such as Corporate Property, Premier Agri, Marine, Engineering, Public Sector, Financial Lines, and UMA’s. You will analyze business impacts, collaborate with developers, and ensure solutions are delivered to meet both functional and technical expectations.
This role requires a proactive communicator, analytical thinker, and problem-solver who can support business process optimization, document clear specifications, and ensure successful end-user adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with business stakeholders to identify challenges, opportunities, and solution requirements.
- Perform in-depth analysis of business processes and their impact on systems.
- Develop business cases, functional specifications, and requirements documentation.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure clear understanding of business and technical needs.
- Participate in quality assurance, testing, and validation of developed solutions.
- Investigate production issues and change requests to identify and implement effective resolutions.
- Support project, change management, and training teams to deliver business-aligned solutions.
- Track progress and report on solution benefits monthly.
- Ensure cost control, governance, and compliance with corporate policies.
- Share knowledge, best practices, and foster a high-performance, learning-oriented culture.
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills Required
- Tertiary qualification (Degree or equivalent NQF Level 7).
- Certification in Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, or Prince2 will be advantageous.
- 1–3 years’ experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within an Agile project environment.
- Experience in short-term or long-term insurance, particularly in Specialty insurance, is highly advantageous.
- Exposure to digital innovation and technology-driven process improvement.
