Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and consumer-focused Brand Manager to join our Confectionery team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the development, management, and sustenance of profitable global brands. You will drive brand growth by deeply understanding, anticipating, and actively meeting evolving consumer needs within the competitive confectionery, impulse, and fast-moving categories.
A Day in the Life: Core Responsibilities
The Brand Manager will execute a holistic marketing strategy focused on consumer insights, product experience, and flawless market execution:
I. Consumer Insight & Brand Strategy
- Deep Consumer Knowledge: Lead the understanding of consumer behaviour by liaising with local research teams and partners to conduct robust qualitative and quantitative studies.
- Brand Stewardship: Deeply understand and consistently enforce the Brand Vision and Essence, ensuring it governs all brand communication and actions.
- Innovation Pipeline: Passionately seek out and leverage internal and external resources to contribute to the development of an “Innovate Bigger Bolder Better” pipeline. Accountable for providing high-quality Concept Briefs to the Innovation & Renovation (I&R) and Project Managers.
II. Product & Market Execution
- Product Experience: Champion the delivery of the tastiest and healthiest products relative to the target consumer and competition. Manage the brand to enhance the Nutrition, Health & Wellness (NHW) goal.
- Packaging & Solutions: Lead the development of relevant and preferred packaging and product solutions to enhance the overall consumer experience.
- Shopper Engagement: Understand relevant shopping environments and behaviors to define strategies that “Win with Shoppers” and improve performance.
- Pricing Strategy: Define and manage the desired relative price of products within the brand portfolio, ensuring alignment with consumer-perceived value and competitive positioning.
III. Planning & Financial Acumen
- Integrated Commercial Planning: Contribute to the development and execute a strong, cross-functionally aligned brand and Integrated Commercial Plan.
- Performance Management: Track and monitor brand performance, health, and strategic alignment.
- Budget Ownership: Demonstrate strong Financial & Business Acumen, including PFME (Performance Funds for Marketing Expenditure) budget management and full P&L understanding.
IV. Communication & Digital Leadership
- Engaging Experiences: Manage the development process for creating Ownable Brand Propositions and Big Ideas.
- Agency Partnership: Work closely with communication agencies to develop engaging, business-building communication.
- Digital Drive: Embrace e-business and digital marketing to drive brand and business performance, ensuring all brand communication enhances the company image as a trusted NHW leader.
What Will Make You Successful
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or IMM Diploma (Commercial Marketing preferred) or equivalent.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of Junior Brand or Brand Manager experience is essential, specifically within confectionery, impulse, or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) categories.
Core Competencies
- Proven track record of working independently and delivering brilliant execution of campaigns.
- Demonstrated experience working effectively with cross-functional and global teams.
- Has significantly contributed to the development and implementation of a brand strategy aimed at increasing brand competitiveness.
- Proven track record of successfully handling innovation/renovation projects.
