The Opportunity: Branch Leadership & Strategy

We are seeking a results-driven Branch Manager to lead our Piet Retief branch. This pivotal role is responsible for driving the branch’s retail strategy, significantly growing the customer base and revenue of Sanlam Retail Mass, and establishing a superior client service ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

As Branch Manager, you will be the central figure responsible for sales delivery, operational integrity, and people management:

I. Strategic Management & Sales

  • Retail Strategy: Develop and oversee the execution of the local retail branch strategy and business plan.
  • Revenue Growth: Take full responsibility for retail branch sales delivery, proactively driving efforts to exceed targets.
  • Reporting: Conduct monthly planning and detailed reporting on all sales and service activities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Identify and engage key internal and external stakeholders (Area Managers, Business Owners, community forums) to build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships.

II. Team Leadership & People Management

  • Guidance & Integration: Guide, integrate, and standardize the activities, goals, and objectives of all Sales Consultants within the branch, ensuring alignment with the overarching cluster strategy.
  • Performance Management: Oversee all operational people practices for direct reports, collaborating with HR on talent management, performance reviews, individual development, and grievance resolution.
  • Culture: Lead by example to establish and drive a strong service delivery culture within the branch, ensuring an optimal client experience.

III. Operations & Compliance

  • Day-to-Day Management: Assume responsibility for the successful day-to-day maintenance and operational management of the retail branch.
  • Risk & Quality: Ensure stringent compliance with all relevant regulatory frameworks, internal quality standards, and risk management protocols.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Matric (Grade 12).
  • Accreditation: RE1 and RE5 certifications are mandatory.
  • Qualification: 120 Wealth Management credits OR a tertiary qualification recognized by the FSCA.
  • CPD: Current and past cycles must be compliant with continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of recent industry experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Skills: Essential experience in Service Management and proven Insurance sales experience.
  • Desirable: Credit and lending experience and knowledge of Sanlam insurance products.
