Role Overview

The Associate Director supports strategic initiatives within the Science and Medicine Department and DHS group, ensuring alignment between scientific excellence and corporate growth objectives. This position contributes to thought leadership, scientific quality, and cross-functional collaboration, while representing Signant Health as a trusted scientific expert in internal and external forums.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive strategic initiatives within the Science & Medicine department, aligning scientific goals with business strategies.
• Partner with the Sales team to define and execute impactful business development strategies that enhance win rates and client partnerships.
• Mentor and develop junior clinical scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and professional growth.
• Support leadership in departmental planning, cross-functional initiatives, and project execution.
• Contribute to thought leadership through scientific publications, presentations, and collaborations.
• Ensure scientific rigor and quality across projects, guiding methodologies and deliverables.
• Represent Signant Health at investigator meetings, conferences, and industry events.
• Collaborate with teams across Operations, Product Development, and Regulatory Affairs to align scientific initiatives with company objectives.
• Monitor emerging scientific trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments to inform strategy.
• Support compliance with regulatory requirements and uphold scientific integrity across all projects.

Decision-Making & Influence

• Exercise sound judgment in balancing scientific priorities with business goals.
• Provide clear scientific guidance that informs departmental and project-level decisions.
• Influence cross-functional teams by communicating the impact of scientific concepts on business outcomes.
• Contribute to innovation through the evaluation of emerging technologies and research methodologies.
• Build and maintain relationships with academic institutions, industry partners, and scientific peers.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

• Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent) in a relevant scientific or medical discipline.
• 7+ years’ experience in clinical research, the pharmaceutical industry, or healthcare.
• Minimum of 3 years in a scientific or clinical management role.
• Proven record of scientific contributions and peer-reviewed publications.
• Strong understanding of clinical research methodologies and industry standards.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
• Collaborative mindset with commitment to scientific ethics and integrity.

Desirable:

• Experience in therapeutic areas such as CNS, oncology, neurology, or rare diseases.
• Familiarity with digital health technologies, AI in clinical research, or novel methodologies.
• Background in clinical development or medical affairs.
• Understanding of global regulatory frameworks and compliance standards.
