Position Summary
The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in ensuring efficient store operations, driving sales, building customer loyalty, and achieving financial and compliance targets. The role requires strong leadership, operational excellence, and a focus on superior customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales and achieve financial performance by executing promotions, cross-selling, up-selling, and motivating the store team.
- Manage all operational activities, including expenses, stock management, shrinkage control, housekeeping, and administration.
- Ensure in-store visual merchandising meets brand standards and promotional requirements.
- Support staff motivation and performance management in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Assist in maintaining daily work schedules in line with Group labour policy.
- Execute customer service initiatives to enhance the customer experience, drive loyalty, and achieve club card participation targets.
- Attend to administrative responsibilities, including accurate weekly time, attendance, and employee records submitted to HR.
- Support the Group’s vision to be the customer’s first-choice health and beauty retailer by upholding company values.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 with at least 50% in Maths and English
- Relevant Retail/Business Management qualification (required for external applicants)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an assistant store management role within a retail or FMCG environment, or completion of the Clicks Trainee Store Management Programme
- Financial management experience, including budgets, profit and loss statements, and financial ratios
Preferred Requirements
- Degree in relevant Retail/Business Management
