Data Security Specialist

Description/Details:
The Data Security Specialist will be instrumental in supporting Exim Bank’s technology department by managing data security for business and customer data. This role involves assessing compliance, governance, and security control effectiveness, evaluating threats and vulnerabilities, and communicating risks to business units and management per Exim Bank’s Cyber Security Baseline.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• • Establish and maintain procedures for the Data Security function.
  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize data security systems and policies.
  • Investigate data security incidents and events.
  • Review system and audit logs for potential threats or attacks.
  • Analyze outputs from Data Protection Systems to detect insider threats or data compromises.
  • Implement and enforce data security standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Manage Data Loss Prevention (DLP) engineering across Email, Endpoint, Web, and File Discovery systems.
  • Ensure sensitive data is protected and monitored per policies.
  • Develop processes to minimize data breach risks.
  • Provide security expertise to business initiatives and projects.
  • Conduct security assessments, including penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
  • Enhance data security policies to align with business needs and evolving threats.
  • Oversee cybersecurity tools to ensure compliance and identify improvement areas.

Qualification and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Systems, Computer Science/Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in data security operations.
• Knowledge of Cyber and Risk Management Frameworks and International Security Standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of GDPR, PCI DSS, and other regulatory requirements.
• Industry security certification (CDPSE preferred).
• Understanding of cybersecurity technologies and general IT.
• Preferred certifications: CDPSE, ISO 27001, CISSP, CISM, CEH; ITIL, CISA, PMP are a plus.
• Strong understanding of IT controls and service.
