About the Programme

ATNS is offering 117 bursary opportunities for aspiring aviation professionals to join the Air Traffic Services Bursar Programme. The programme will host four intakes during the financial year, providing successful candidates with the opportunity to study at the Aviation Training Academy in Bonaero Park, Gauteng.

Upon completion, placement of trainees will be determined based on ATNS’ operational needs.

Available Streams:

1. Air Traffic Services Officer (ATSO)
2. Aeronautical Information Management Officer (AIMO)
3. Target Generating Officer (TGO)
4. Airport Management Centre (AMC) Liaison Officer
5. Simulator Support Officer (SSO)

Programme Overview

Participants will receive extensive training and exposure to various aspects of air traffic management over a specified training period. This hands-on learning environment prepares bursars for key roles in aviation operations and safety management.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric Certificate with the following subjects and grades:
  • Pure Mathematics: Level 4 / HG D or SG C (or higher)
  • English: Level 4 / HG D or SG C (or higher)
• South African citizen with a valid ID.
• Medically fit and willing to undergo the ATNS medical assessment (for ATSO stream).
• Must attach Grade 12 results to the application.
• Willing to relocate anywhere in South Africa.
• Unemployed South African youth.
• Applicants who have previously participated in a similar ATNS programme will not be considered.
