Full Scholarship at German University In Cairo (Guc) and German International University (Giu) in The Arab Republic Of Egypt For The Academic Year 2025/2026

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology is pleased to announce that the German International University (GIU) and the German University in Cairo (GUC) are offering fully funded scholarships to outstanding Tanzanian students.

These scholarships are awarded to students who achieved the highest results in the National Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examinations (ACSEE), specifically those with the best Division I grades.

Successful candidates will have the opportunity to pursue Bachelor’s degree studies in various disciplines during the 2025/2026 academic year as specified below:

x)    Civil Engineering

xi)   Applied Sciences and Arts

B. German International University (GIU):

i.   Engineering

ii.  Design

iii.  Informatics and Computer Science

iv.  Business Administration

v.   Business Information

vi.  Pharmaceutical Engineering

vii. Architecture

viii. Biotechnology

ix.  Physical Therapy

2. Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

(i).  Be among the top Division I students in the 2025 ACSEE results (NECTA).

(ii).  Have studied relevant science, arts, or business combinations that match the selected program of study.

(iii). Submit certified copies of academic certificates (original certificates will be required upon final acceptance).

(iv). Pass the GUC/GIU Admission Tests – including aptitude or portfolio-based tests for specialized fields such as Architecture, Design, and Applied Arts.

(v).  Demonstrate strong English language proficiency (a written test or interview may be required).

(vi). Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 (“Good” in the German system) in each semester throughout the program.

3. Program-Specific Requirements

The following subject prerequisites apply:

  • Media Engineering and Technology, Information Engineering and Technology, Informatics and Computer Science: Must have strong passes in Physics and Advanced Mathematics.
  • Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering and Materials Science: Must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Advanced Mathematics.
  • Architecture, Applied Sciences and Arts, design: Must demonstrate creativity and pass the aptitude/portfolio test; A strong background in Physics or Geography and Chemistry, Biology is required, while Mathematics will be an added advantage.
  • Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Engineering: Must have studied Chemistry and Biology, with Physics and Mathematics as an added advantage.
  • Dentistry and Physical Therapy: Must have strong passes in Physics, Biology and Chemistry.
  • Law and Legal Studies: Must have studied Arts combinations, including History, English, and Geography/Economics.
  • Management Technology, Business Informatics, Business Information, Business Administration: Must have studied Commerce, Economics, Mathematics, or Arts combinations with strong English skills.

4. Scholarship Coverage

i.   The scholarship is fully funded and covers:

iii.  International flight tickets

iv.  Accommodation

v.   Transportation

Note: The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania will not provide any additional loans or grants for candidates awarded this scholarship.

5. Application Procedure

i).   Interested candidates must: Submit a formal letter of application, together with certified copies of academic certificates.

ii).  Send applications no later than 1st October 2025 via email to:ps@moe.go.tz and dhe@moe.go.tz.

iii).  Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
